I’m a big believer in the power of podcasts for personal growth and learning. They offer a convenient way to soak up new information and insights while on the go. In fact, I’ve found that listening to podcasts is like having a personal mentor or teacher with me wherever I go.
As someone studying languages, podcasts have been an excellent tool for practicing my listening comprehension and expanding my vocabulary. But they also offer much more than that. Listening to podcasts in different languages has broadened my perspective and taught me about diverse cultures, customs, and ways of life. This has helped me become a more empathetic and open-minded person, which is essential in our interconnected world.

One of my all-time favorite English podcasts is “The Tim Ferriss Show.” Tim Ferriss is a bestselling author, entrepreneur, and public speaker who interviews a wide range of successful people on his podcast, from celebrities to athletes to business moguls. I’ve learned so much from his guests about their habits, routines, and mindsets, and have been able to apply those lessons to my own life. https://tim.blog/podcast/

For Arabic podcasts, “بودكاست فنجان” (Finjan Podcast) is my top pick. Hosted by Abdulrahman Abumalih عبدالرحمن أبومالح, the podcast features guests from different backgrounds and provides an engaging and thought-provoking listening experience. https://lnkd.in/efiGGVjs
In addition to English and Arabic, I also enjoy listening to French and German podcasts. While I may not be fluent in these languages, listening to podcasts has helped me improve my comprehension skills and learn more about how French and German people think.

For French, I recently discovered “Sismique,” which I’m already hooked on. Hosted by Julien Devaureix, the podcast features interviews with thinkers and actors of a changing world to understand what tomorrow holds for us and prepare for it. The guests offer unique perspectives on many important issues in today’s world. https://lnkd.in/eZPbKjfN

When it comes to German, “Easy German” is perfect for me as a German learner. It covers a wide range of subjects, including current events, politics, and social issues, providing valuable insights into German culture and society. I love the engaging and thought-provoking content that is both informative and entertaining. https://lnkd.in/e5K6mrNr
In summary, listening to podcasts is one of the best habits that I’ve developed in the past few years. They’ve taught me the importance of listening to diverse perspectives and points of view, even when I don’t always agree with them. By doing so, I’ve become a better person and a more responsible global citizen. I highly recommend giving podcasts a try if you’re looking for a new way to learn and grow.
