As a 23-year-old student living alone, I’ve always been drawn to minimalism. The idea of simplifying my life and getting rid of clutter has always appealed to me, so three years ago, I took the leap and embraced minimalism.

Initially, it was just about reducing my possessions. I got rid of anything I hadn’t used in a year and stopped buying things I didn’t need. It was liberating to let go of the clutter and focus on what was truly important.

But as I dove deeper into minimalism, I realized there were other areas of my life that needed simplifying too. This led me to discover digital minimalism. I became aware of how much time I was wasting on social media, constantly scrolling and comparing myself to others.

So, I started curating my social media feed, unfollowing accounts that didn’t bring value to my life and turning off all notifications. Although this reduced my social media use, I still felt like it was taking up too much of my time and energy. That’s why I recently made the bold decision to step back from consuming social media and use it only to share valuable content with my followers. This change has had a huge impact on my life. I now have more time for my studies, personal interests, and self-care, and I feel less overwhelmed and stressed. Minimalism has given me a newfound sense of clarity and purpose.

I also want to talk about minimizing friends. It’s a difficult topic, but an important one. I realized I had many acquaintances draining my energy and not adding value to my life, so I chose to minimize those relationships and focus on building deeper connections with those who matter most to me.

In conclusion, becoming a minimalist has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s helped me simplify my life and focus on what’s truly important. I encourage others to give it a try and see the positive impact it can have on their life.
